Global tips and Local secrets for the intrigued traveling surfer…

About Cameron Brown

Hi, I’m Cameron. Welcome to My Wave Addiction.

I was in the 7th grade when I first decided I wanted to be a surfer, and I think in the beginning I was more attracted to the image than the sport itself. It looked like the coolest lifestyle, and I had to be apart of it. It didn’t take long for the ocean to capture my heart, and it continues to be the place where I experience life’s most memorable and exhilarating moments.

MWA began as a place to share surf travel stories with friends and family, and has since naturally evolved into what it is today. Here is how it works:

The Quiver

Much like a surfer’s quiver reflects the essence of their style, The Quiver page reflects the essence of MWA. Here is where we dig deep into the things that interest us most (including, but not limited to): Surfing, Life, the Environment, and Travel.

Board Shorts

Don’t worry. We are not trying to sell you board shorts. Board Shorts are short, but original MWA posts, for those with not-so-long attention spans.

The Back Burner

When we feel the urge to share content that we didn’t create ourselves, we throw it on The Back Burner. These posts range in length. Sometimes they relate directly to surfing, sometimes they don’t but we share them anyway.

As of 2/9/15

I am taking one year off from surf travel that requires a plane or car, to create awareness about our ability as individual surfers have to lower our carbon emissions (one of the most detrimental things to our oceans). Ultimately I will be preparing to travel and surf along California’s coast on my bike. Bike to Surf is a personal movement to contribute to the conversation about surfing, sustainability and ethical travel.
